The MSU College of Law at MSU General Santos officially welcomed its students to the first day of classes with the LexStart Salubong on August 17, 2026, held at the MSU College of Law in General Santos City. The College’s Vice Dean, Atty. Donna Ann T. Balboa, led the LexStart Salubong.
Law students filled the hallways with excitement, laughter, and lively chatter as they gathered for the start of the academic year 2026-2027. Adding to the lively atmosphere of the first day, the LexStart Salubong brought together various organizations that prepared an array of food, refreshments, and activities for the students.
Organizations set up food displays featuring an assortment of snacks and refreshments. The College Administration arranged for catering services, providing pasta, pica-pica, and other refreshments. Meanwhile, the Supreme Student Council set up free taho and coffee stations for the students.
Fraternities also set up their respective booths and activities. Mu Kappa Phi featured a colorful spread of pica-pica, complemented by a television display showcasing activities and initiatives led by the organization.
Meanwhile, Beta Sigma Lambda set up an ice cream station featuring various flavors, along with a live caricature-drawing activity. The organization also featured a matcha station for students to enjoy.
The Sultans also set up a photobooth where students could have their photos printed as hard copies, complete with various photo props and themed signage.
The Tanglaw Diwa Legal Clinic added to the food offerings by providing free fruits and cake. The Muslim Law Students Association (MSLA) introduced students to a selection of Maranao delicacies, including dodol, browa, tyatag, bukayo, kumokunsi, and the well-known pastil.
The LexStart Salubong ran from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., ending just as classes resumed and students turned their attention back to the rigors of law school.
